Description:
The mystical space of the great organ, which delivers Dupré's most important scenes of Jesus Christ in all their dynamism. It is composed of 14 parts. In churches, it is said over a series of paintings and sculptures displayed on the side of the chancel, and each scene is prayed in contemplation. In 1931, Dupré improvised after the reading of each part at the Brussels Conservatory, which led to the completion of "The Way to the Cross" the following year, which was premiered by the composer himself. It is skillfully woven with themes and sound forms that represent the Passion of Jesus, his agonizing footsteps, the cross, and consolation. The composer's tone designations are constructed into a dramatic development that is reminiscent of a visual image, while also inheriting the aroma of the Romantic organ. The following chorale works by Dupré are 79 chorales composed by J.S. Bach using traditional hymns, which Dupré has simplified to make them more familiar to organ students. Yamada selected three of them to conclude the album as "Resurrection. Sanae Yamada has been involved in church services and religious music for many years, and is active as an organist while nurturing younger musicians. Following her first album "Job" (P. Eben), this time she recorded with a sincere understanding of the works and a mastery of technique. The Rieger organ at Tokorozawa Muse, used for the recording, is an instrument of modern style, with 75 stops and four hand keys and pedals, making it suitable for bringing out the various characteristics of modern French works, from the earth-shaking ultra-low notes, including 32 feet, to the overtones like minute grains of light. The dynamics are recorded as they are without any adjustment, allowing the listener to feel immersed in the scene and quietly savor the passion for the music. Sanae Yamada (organ) graduated from the State University of Church Music Regensburg, Germany. She holds a national diploma as a church musician in Germany. Studied organ and improvisation under Masaaki Suzuki, W. Herrin, K. Schaefer, and F.J. Stoiber. Studied harpsichord with K.F. Wagner and counterpoint with G. Ratzinger.
