Renee and Gene, who met at Temple University, signed with Motown after their hit "Hey Mr. D.J." with Michael Wykoff on the Flavor Unit compilation, and Kay Gee (Naughty by Nature), the producer of the song, did most of the work on their debut. The debut album was mostly produced by Kay Gee (Naughty by Nature), the producer of the song. The album features not only hip-hop and soul tunes, but also a slow, graceful piano and strings performance that showcases the high level of musical talent of the two musicians. Released in 1994.
