The right helmet shouldn't feel like a compromise between safety and comfort. The Shires Karben Amity SMRT Riding Helmet delivers dual-certified protection that meets both ASTM F1163-23 and PAS015:2011 standards — approved for competitive work across dressage, show jumping, and daily schooling. With its low-profile matte finish and lightweight shell, this helmet fits naturally into your tack without adding bulk or heat.
What sets the Karben Amity apart is the AIR-XC ventilation system: 6 outer vents and 10 internal cooling channels work together to pull heat away from your head during long rides and intense sessions. The micro-adjustable dial-fit system at the back lets you fine-tune the snugness every time you tack up, so you get a secure, no-wiggle fit that stays put through every transition and jump.
Competitive and recreational riders looking for a ventilated, dual-certified helmet that balances show-ring aesthetics with daily schooling comfort.
Measure the circumference of your head in centimeters just above your ears and across the middle of your forehead. Match that measurement to the size range on the helmet, then use the dial-fit system to fine-tune the snugness. The Karben Amity SMRT's adjustable dial helps bridge the gap between shell sizes for a custom, secure feel.
Because the Karben Amity features a fixed peak, it's not suitable for the cross-country phase of eventing. However, it's an excellent choice for the dressage and show jumping phases, as well as general hacking, flatwork, and schooling.
The helmet should sit level on your head, approximately two fingers' width above your eyebrows. Once the dial is tightened, the helmet should not rock forward or backward — even before you buckle the chin strap. If it moves, adjust the dial or try a different size.
