The Extech HD500 is a 3-in-1 combination meter that brings together the functions of a humidity meter, a Type K thermometer, and a non-contact InfraRed thermometer in a single handheld instrument. It measures relative humidity, contact temperature via a Type K probe, and surface temperature without contact, while also deriving dew point and wet bulb values. The patented non-contact InfraRed thermometer technology is built directly into the hygro-thermometer body, giving the operator multiple measurement modes from one device.

Extech positions the HD500 for home inspection applications, where the ability to read humidity, air temperature, and non-contact surface temperature from a single tool is well suited to assessing building conditions. The combination of a hygro-thermometer with built-in infrared surface measurement supports moisture-related and temperature-related inspection work without carrying separate instruments.
