About The Guy Who Fell Out Of The Window?

Scripture: Acts 20:7-13, A Boy Falls Asleep During Paul’s Sermon

Have you ever struggled with falling asleep in church? One time a boy fell asleep during one of Paul’s sermons, fell out a window, and died! Fortunately for him and his family, Paul was able to restore his life. 

Objective: Kids will learn, “God is strong, but loves us even though we are weak.” 

About The Ax That Could Float?

Scripture: 2 Kings 6:1-7, An Ax Head Floats

Tools are expensive. Just ask your parents. When a man lost the head of his ax in the water, he was pretty upset. Fortunately, Elisha was there to do a miracle. God cares about all our problems, even the little ones. 

Objective: Kids will learn, “God cares about all our problems, big and small.” 

About The Bad Cook?

Scripture: Ezekiel 4:9-16, Ezekiel Cooks Over Cow Pies

Imagine eating homemade bread cooked over a fire fueled by cow poop. I can’t imagine that would smell very good, but that was the point. Ezekiel’s unusual cooking method was meant to be a powerful reminder of how repulsive sin is to God and the unpleasant consequences of choosing to sin. 

Objective: Kids will learn, “God thinks our sin stinks.”

Scripture: Matthew 27:50-53, People Rising From the Grave After Jesus Died

There’s one little detail that often gets overlooked in retelling the Easter story. At the moment Jesus died, many faithful people who were dead rose from their graves and visited their relatives! We don’t have a lot of detail on this, but it reminds us that people who know Jesus don’t stay dead for long. Everyone who dies in Christ will be raised to new life. 

Objective: Kids will learn, “Jesus made a way for us to all experience eternal life.”
