An impressive early 20th century antique French Louis XVI style five drawer, five door demilune enfilade buffet handcrafted of mahogany in Paris, circa 1920s. Having a beautiful painted finish, the original thick, moulded and beveled Cararra marble top, and finely chased bronze ormolu mounts, this elegant buffet is a fine example of the high quality workmanship and style of Paris ateliers. Each of the five drawers is decorated with molding and adorned with circular bronze laurel leaf pulls, the fluted columns feature ormolu rosettes and mounts, and there are bronze ribbon and laurel leaf escutcheons and keys for each door. The panel doors, having four ormolu rosettes each, open to reveal a spacious interior with a single shelf for storage. Raised on four toupie feet with bronze collars ending in brass sabots.
This elegant neoclassical enfilade with it's straight lines and rounded corners, provides excellent storage and a great surface for serving and display. A versatile piece that's perfect for a dining room, foyer, or hallway.
