The Keysight B2961B/B2962B is a 6.5 Digit Low Noise Power Source — a bench-top power supply and source that combines high-resolution DC sourcing with innovative functions including bipolar current sourcing and sinking, a programmable output resistance feature, and a time-domain waveform viewer built into its graphical user interface. It is offered as a 1-channel model (B2961B) or a 2-channel model (B2962B), so the exact amount of bench-top source performance can be matched to the testing need.
These instruments cover a broad range of test and evaluation applications. Listed application examples include A/D and D/A converters, high-precision analog ICs and circuitry, RFICs and circuitry, medical applications, cable and wire harness evaluation, voltage controlled oscillators (VCOs), sensor devices and transducers, solar cells and their interface circuitry, electrochemical applications, research and education, crystal oscillators, current sourcing for small voltage measurement, battery management, and advanced materials evaluation. They are also positioned as companion sources for use with other instruments such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, digital multimeters, and nano-voltmeters.
ValueTronics supports the B2961B/B2962B from our own 20,000-square-foot secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois, where we stock and hold our inventory rather than sourcing it on demand.
Keysight Technologies traces its test-and-measurement heritage to Hewlett-Packard. HP's instrument business was spun off as Agilent Technologies in 1999, and Agilent's electronic measurement business was then established as Keysight Technologies in 2014.
The B2961B/B2962B 6.5 Digit Low Noise Power Source family lets you choose between a 1-channel model (B2961B) and a 2-channel model (B2962B), selecting the exact amount of bench-top source performance your testing requires. Both models share the same 6.5-digit resolution, the same 210 V / 3 A DC (10.5 A pulse) bipolar four-quadrant ranges, the same 31.8 W maximum power, and the same standard interface set.
The primary distinction across the family is channel count and the capabilities that depend on it, such as the dual viewing mode available on the two-channel model. The comparison table below details how the two configurations line up.
Each new model below is its own dedicated product page with condition-matched pricing. Select the channel configuration that fits your bench, then choose the new listing for that model to see its current availability and price.
The two models differ in channel count: the B2961B is a single-channel source and the B2962B is a two-channel source. The dual view mode — which shows two channels simultaneously on the 4.3-inch LCD — is available only on the B2962B; single view, waveform preview, and graph view are available on both. Net and shipping weights also differ, reflecting the second channel.
When the two-channel B2962B is used, total maximum current across both channels is limited per the datasheet's current-limitation table for the 21 V / 1.515 A and 6 V / 3.03 A ranges; this limitation does not apply when only one channel is in use. Refer to the comparison table for the per-model values.
| Model | Channels | Max Voltage | Max DC Current |
|---|---|---|---|
| B2962B | 2 | 210 V | 3.03 A |
| B2961B | 1 | 210 V | 3.03 A |
Additional differences in specifications beyond the few shown above are not listed here — see each model's full specifications below.

Important: Triaxial connections are recommended for sourcing less than 1 nA; a banana jack to triaxial adapter is available for low current source.
Important: The external low noise filters (N1298A/B/C) are available as an option or accessory and are not included with the base unit; they connect to the banana jack outputs of each channel.
Important: When using the external low noise filters, the 10 A pulse range and the programmable output resistance capability are not supported, and for current output only DC is supported.
Important: Activation of both safety interlock pins on the Digital I/O connector is required to enable output voltage greater than 42 V.
Recommended pairing: add an external low-noise filter — N1298A (21 V/500 mA), N1298B (42 V/105 mA), or N1298C (210 V/3 A) — to reduce output noise for noise-sensitive device and oscillator testing.
