A beautiful set of six antique high back French Louis XIII style barley twist side chairs handcrafted and carved of old growth French oak by talented artisans in Bordeaux, having the original leather backs and newly upholstered mohair seats with nail head trim, circa 1860s. The stylized chapeau de gendarme backs and scalloped nail head trim of the seats add an extra touch of elegance. Raised on turned and barley twist legs with barley twist stretchers. These wonderful French dining chairs are structurally sound and the leather backs are in very good condition.
