While Blanton's outstanding bourbons are distilled in Kentucky at the Buffalo Trace Distillery, some of their most highly sought-after expressions are exclusive to international markets. This Red Takara release is no exception, made exclusively for the Japanese market. Starting with a unique mash bill of corn, rye, and malted barley that's aged for roughly eight years — longer than Original Single Barrel — it offers notes of caramel, honey, and cherry cola on the nose. The flavor profile includes hefty doses of caramel, cherries, and baking spices, with hints of oak and leather that linger for a spicy finish.
