Winter 2024, studying historical transcription methods. I imagined an ancient text, where the original, delicate writing (the small ovals) was preserved in the upper register, while a later annotation (the precisely raked lines) was added below.

The final, heavy interpretation (the large blocks) anchored the bottom.

The distressed beige background represents the color of the parchment.

The technique involves delicate stamping for the top ovals, a sharp metal comb for the middle tally, and a wide, rounded trowel for the heavy, confident statements at the bottom, symbolizing the three voices of history.
