The HT Italia HT97U is an AC current transducer clamp that converts measured alternating current into a proportional 1V AC output signal. It offers three selectable full-scale ranges — 10A, 100A, and 1000A AC — each with its own conversion ratio of 100mV/A, 10mV/A, or 1mV/A respectively. The clamp jaw provides an opening of 54mm diameter for round conductors and accommodates bus bars sized 35x35mm or 50x12mm.

A current transducer clamp lets a measurement system sense AC current without breaking the circuit, clamping around a conductor and producing a scaled low-level signal that downstream instrumentation can read. On the HT97U, this scaled output is intended for power measurement work, where the conventional current direction P1 to P2 indicated by the arrow on the rear of the clamp must be observed.
