Acers are a stunning ornamental plant that are deciduous in nature. Their ability to display a variety of colours throughout the year makes them popular amongst gardeners. Acers can be grown in pots or in the ground and thrive best in peat rich soils. Due to their leaves delicate nature, they must be protected from windy areas of the garden and be kept out of direct, heat-of-the-day sun light as they can be subject to windburn.
The 'Moonrise' acer is a compact growing acer of a loosely-rounded habit. It's foliage is bright red when young which then turns a fresh yellow-green as it further matures which then turns orange and red in the autumn.
