The background was aggressively textured with thick gesso and heavy-body paint, using a large, serrated tool to create the deep, diagonal ruts and shadows typical of a mogul field.

This technique ensures the surface casts complex, realistic shadows, making the white feel three-dimensional.

The colorful skiers were then placed in a scattered, intentional pattern using miniature brushes and pure pigment, focusing on the dynamic lines of their descent. The tiny, bright figures act as visual markers of speed and freedom against the monumental, cold, and challenging white expanse.
