A 19th century French Country Louis XV style carved buffet handcrafted of chestnut by talented artisans in the Normandy region that's been bleached or washed to a natural finish retaining its beautiful patina, circa 1880s. Unmistakably French, this wonderful washed oak buffet has a rectangular plank top sitting above three drawers featuring carved floral and foliate motifs over two recessed panel doors having carved floral and foliate motifs spilling out of a basket. The center stile features the same floral and foliate hand carved motifs with the corner stiles having grape and floral motifs. Original brass hardware and hand carved details throughout. Doors open to reveal a single shelf. Carved, shaped apron resting on short cabriole legs ending in scrolled French toes. A lovely buffet that is perfect for entertaining with plenty of storage and a nice serving surface.
