About Persian Zanjan Rug: This beautiful rug was hand knotted in Zanjan, Iran. This ancient city sprung up through salt mining in the area and was an important stop in the Silk Routes of Iran. Zanjan carpets are renowned for their rich, bright and exotic colours, enough to liven up any room. The foundations of these rugs are either cotton or a cotton/wool mix and pile made of pure wool making them hard wearing carpets.
