A 19th century carved French Country Louis XV style bleached enfilade buffet handcrafted by talented artisans near Bayeux, a medieval city on the Aure river in the Normandy region of northwestern France, of old solid oak that's been bleached or washed to a natural finish retaining its beautiful patina, circa 1890s. Unmistakably French, this wonderful washed oak buffet has a plank top above three drawers over three recessed panel doors with original iron hardware and hand carved details throughout. Doors open to reveal a single shelf. Carved, scalloped apron features a large center shell motif. Raised on short cabriole legs ending in scrolled French toes. A lovely provincial buffet that is perfect for entertaining, having plenty of storage and a nice serving surface. The narrow depth of this versatile piece makes it perfect for a dining room, foyer, or in a den as a media cabinet.
