This high performance converter is designed to seamlessly connect legacy Quad Link SDI equipment to modern single cable Ultra HD infrastructures. It enables Quad Link SDI signals to be combined into a single 12G‑SDI output, allowing older four‑cable Ultra HD sources to integrate effortlessly with contemporary routers, switchers, monitors and recorders. By reducing complex cabling to one streamlined connection, it simplifies system design while preserving full broadcast quality across all supported formats.
The unit supports all standard definition, high definition and Ultra HD video formats up to 2160p60, including DCI 4K standards. Automatic multi rate switching ensures compatibility with SD, HD, 3G, 6G and 12G‑SDI signals, while full support for both Level A and Level B 3G‑SDI guarantees reliable operation with a wide range of professional equipment. This makes the converter ideal for upgrading facilities gradually, without the need to replace existing Quad Link infrastructure all at once.
Built on the Teranex Mini platform, the design is optimized for broadcast installations as well as mobile and rental environments. A built in international AC power supply removes the need for external adapters, while Power over Ethernet support provides an alternative power source for clean, centralized installations. Ethernet connectivity allows remote management and configuration, enabling technicians to monitor and adjust settings across multiple units from a single location. Settings can also be changed locally using the onboard mini switches or via USB using the free Blackmagic software utility.
For enhanced usability, an optional Smart Panel can be added to the front of the converter. This panel includes a color LCD, rotary control and dedicated buttons, allowing operators to view the incoming video signal and adjust settings directly on the device. The compact metal enclosure can be used on a desktop or mounted in a rack, making it flexible enough for permanent installations, OB vans or temporary production setups where space and reliability are equally important.
