This compact conversion unit is designed to bring older analog equipment into modern SDI‑based workflows with exceptional signal integrity. It provides a dependable bridge between legacy component, S‑Video or composite sources and today’s demanding SD or HD SDI environments. By combining robust analog input support with high quality digital processing, it ensures that classic formats such as Betacam SP, VHS, consumer video players and even older camcorders can be integrated into professional broadcast, live production or archival setups.

Inside the converter, advanced circuitry automatically detects whether the incoming analog signal is standard definition or high definition. This auto switching makes the unit easy to integrate into mixed‑format environments without constant manual adjustments. Every video input is processed using 4:2:2 sampling and YUV color precision, ensuring that visual details, tonal transitions and motion are preserved when translated to SDI. The reclocking feature stabilises output signals to maintain SDI standard compliance over long cable distances and complex routing paths, improving reliability in studio and OB van systems.

The device supports a wide range of video formats including NTSC and PAL for SD, and 720p and 1080i HD formats for modern displays and switchers. Audio embedding is available through both balanced analog and AES/EBU digital audio inputs, allowing stereo or dual channel audio to be carried directly within the SDI stream. This eliminates the need for additional audio interfaces and keeps the workflow clean and tightly synchronised.

Configuration can be performed either using the onboard mini switches or through the USB software utility on macOS or Windows. This dual approach ensures that technicians can make fast adjustments on location or perform deeper configuration when connected to a workstation.
