Learn how to restore vintage furniture in a friendly community setting!

The workshop takes place at H.J.E. Wenckebachweg 77 (at Yellow Vintage Collective).

This is a beginner-friendly class, so everyone is welcome—no prior experience needed! We provide all tools, materials, snacks, drinks, and a little goodie bag.

Sessions:

• Session 1: Tuesday May 19th, 18:00 – 21:30

• Session 2: Tuesday, May 26th, 18:00–21:30

What to bring:

• A small, manageable piece of vintage wooden furniture that you can easily carry—such as a coffee table or nightstand. Look for something with stains, scratches, or veneer damage—it’s very rewarding to see the transformation after your restoration work!

• We’ll focus on veneered pieces or those with visible wood grain, so painted furniture isn’t ideal. You might already have a piece at home that needs some love, or you can find one on Marktplaats or at a thrift shop.

• Make sure your piece is thoroughly cleaned and free of grime and dust. This may involve using a degreaser such as St. Marc. If it’s not very dirty, dish soap and vinegar should be enough. Be mindful that moisture can damage exposed chipboard and cause veneer to bubble, so avoid getting the piece too wet.

• Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. We’ll be using materials that can permanently stain fabric.

• If you’re sensitive to dust, bring a suitable mask (we won’t be using sanders or toxic products).

For your convenience, you may drop off your piece a few days before the first session and store it at the workshop between sessions. Following the second session, your piece may need to remain at the workshop for a few additional days to allow the hard-wax oil to fully cure. The materials provided in the goodie bag will enable you to complete any remaining work at home.
