This compact broadcast converter is designed to provide reliable access to embedded audio from professional SDI video sources, including Ultra HD workflows. It allows audio to be cleanly de‑embedded from SD, HD and 6G‑SDI signals and delivered directly to external audio systems, making it an essential tool for studios, OB vehicles, live production and post‑production environments where flexible audio routing is required. By separating audio from the video signal without altering picture quality, it ensures seamless integration between video infrastructure and dedicated audio equipment. 

The unit supports the extraction of up to four channels of balanced analog audio or eight channels of balanced AES/EBU digital audio from a single SDI feed. This makes it suitable for a wide range of applications, from feeding audio mixers and monitoring systems to interfacing with broadcast decks and routing systems. Professional quarter‑inch jack connections are used for both analog and digital outputs, ensuring compatibility with industry‑standard audio hardware and maintaining signal integrity across longer cable runs. 

Designed for broadcast reliability, the converter includes redundant SDI inputs with an automatic failover function. If the primary SDI input is lost, the device instantly switches to the alternate input without interruption, providing additional security in live or mission‑critical environments. A reclocked SDI loop output is also provided, allowing the video signal to continue downstream while audio is simultaneously extracted, preserving a clean and stable SDI chain throughout the system. 

Support for a wide range of video standards ensures compatibility with both legacy and modern equipment. The converter automatically detects SD, HD, 3G and 6G‑SDI formats and supports resolutions up to 2160p30, including 2K and DCI 4K standards. Embedded audio is handled at a broadcast‑standard sample rate of 48 kHz with 24‑bit precision, ensuring professional audio quality that matches the demands of high‑end production workflows. 

The rugged metal enclosure is designed for continuous operation in professional environments and can be easily integrated into racks, flypacks or desktop setups. Configuration and software updates are handled via USB using Blackmagic utilities on macOS or Windows. Power is supplied by the included universal 12 V power supply with international socket adapters, making the unit ready for deployment worldwide straight out of the box.
